Location...Location: pick the right location where you an control the light at night, you dont want it too near other light that might wash out the image, also not the lights behind it, this will make the viewing difficult. To avoid this, hang the screen from an eave.
Equipment: Coz the idea is movie night, so your basic essentials are movie player. It could be as simple as DVD player or more retro like: projector. For this you could use a side of house or a cheaper creative way sheet! Hang the sheet on the hooks, tie weights to the bottom to hold the screen in place. Choice of movies could be anythin’ if you pick vintage theme than the more classic the merrier. 
Sitting: A comfort outdoor chair would be nice but if you can’t find one, use anythin’ around the house. A big pillow and a blanket on the ground could be a smart choice too, it could cut the budget not to mention it could enhance the retro look.
Lights: you’ll need low light (dark) for the movie, but still you don’t wanna stumble upon glass or your friends nor family (not if its intended though J) candle or small camping lamp will help create the ambiance.
Neighbors: yes, u’re gonna have fun…but your neighbors need to sleep too or far better they don’t have to hear what’s going on in your house specially if they’re not invited. So a notification a day ahead will do you justice.There you go…movie, popcorn, stars, good friends and families…what else can you ask for more..? Happy weekend.
